In 2012 MCAA is holding eight NEW green building webinars to help your company compete successfully in the green and sustainable building marketplace. These webinars are FREE to members, but you must sign up to participate. These webinars will be held online at 1:00 pm Eastern time.

Our first webinar on LEED AP credential maintenance was informative and fact-filled, as all of Courtney France's webinars are. If you missed it, check the article on the left to access the archived webinar and the powerpoints.

Webinars coming up in the near future include:

  • April 26 -- LEED Paperwork -- Navigating LEED Documentation and Submittals, taught by Courtney France. The building's LEED scorecard is filled with a multitude of responsibilities, assignments, and submittal requirements for all members of the project team. Fortunately, mechanical and plumbing contractors need to submit LEED documentation on only a handful of credits. learn what paperwork is typically rquired and see examples that demonstrate the perfect LEED submittal.
  • June 14 -- The ASHRAE Building Energy Quotient, taught by Tim Wentz. ASHRAE will soon launch a new program that informs owners and operators, tenants and prospective buyers on the energy use of buildings, similar to a nutrition label on food or a miles per gallon rating for cars. The Building Energy Quotient Program, known as bEQ, will include an operational rating for commercial buildings and will provide users a simplified way to measure and compare building efficiencies.

LEED Accredited Professional Update -- Did you miss our February 23 Webinar?

Many MCAA members who are working on green building projects took the step of becoming a LEED accredited professional. Over the past few years the credential and its continuing education requirements have changed as the credential was strengthened to meet ANSI requirements. The CE requirements can seem complicated, but we have broken out the details to help you understand how the credential program is currently structured and how you can maintain your LEED AP credential.

To understand the current requirements, we asked Courtney France, president of France Sustainable Solutions, to compile the latest information and to conduct a webinar on just this topic. If you missed it, you can access the archived webinar by visiting MCAA's Green Webinar webex site.

Then, take a moment to download Courtney's handouts and our three-page guide.

For even more information on LEED AP credential maintenance and the LEED 2012 update, download the recent LEED Update Webinar and earn 1 CE hour in the process under self study.

To get emails on all upcoming MCAA Green Building Webinars and ways to earn additional CE credits, contact Sean McGuire. Webinars are free and if you participate live, you can earn one CE hour in the “live presentation” category.
